We were so excited to have the opportunity to create the stationery and accessories for Eric and Jordan’s fall wedding at the beautiful Glen Ellen Farm near Fredrick Maryland. The bride and groom wanted an elegant and rustic theme for their event featuring wood accents with ivories, browns and maroon wedding colors. We carried these accents through out the stationery for the invitations, signs, save the dates, menus, seating chart, table numbers and favor tags. The big thrill of this wedding was hand drawing the wedding venue and water color painting the scene of the wedding, as seen on the inside of the invitation envelope.     We were honored to be chosen to design the wedding invitation and day of Stationery for Eric and Anushree’s Indian/American wedding which took place in Washington DC. These weddings have a lot of moving parts and days of wonderful events so the invitation was multi-faceted and loaded with information. The couple was great to work with - knowing what they wanted but allowing us to be creative as well and the invitation featured some of the Bride’s own hand drawings. We especially liked working with the tangerine, henna and red colors incorporated into the stationery and creating the most special cards which featured an Indian poem in both Hindu and English for each table at the reception. ​This spring we worked with Emily and Brian on their wedding which was held at the exclusive Antrim 1844 Inn and wedding venue in Taneytown, MD. This was a dream come true for me as a long admirer of the Antrim building architecture and it’s surrounding gorgeous grounds and gardens, I jumped at the chance to draw the building for this wedding’s invitation.The Bride chose a periwinkle blue with whites and ivories for the wedding colors which was reflected in the ink and other artwork added to the designs. Prints of the drawing were created for the wedding and now are actually being sold in the Antrim’s gift shop along with note cards we created for the venue as well. We love Chinoiserie and so did our Bride! Those gorgeous deep blue and white patterns on Ginger Jars and other pottery were the inspiration for a set of save the dates, wedding invitations and wedding day items for a June wedding at the Baltimore Country Club. Watercolor was the medium to create the patterns to go on the backgrounds of the cards and envelope liners. The theme was carried through the entire wedding decor styled by Drew Vanlandingham of Vanlandingham Design Studios. Occasionally we get customers from the same family who come back for invitations or accessories from us after one member gets married. This year we were happy to work once again with the Caine Family whose Son and Daughter both had us create Welcome Card maps for each of their weddings. The latest card was of the Seattle Washington area as the couple were wed at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa in Union, WA https://www.alderbrookresort.com/. The card was attached to a wonderful welcome gift bag created by Box and Bow Artisan Gift Box Studio which was given to the wedding guests.
We love the challenge of researching and drawing maps from other parts of the country - and then we just want to visit there! We actually made that happen when our first commissioned map from the Caine Family was for the daughter’s wedding in Napa Valley, CA. After the wedding the family requested that the wedding venue Auberge du Soleil https://aubergedusoleil.aubergeresorts.com/ be drawn as a Holiday gift for the couple.
