Just when I thought it could not get any better - joy of joys - my son got engaged to the most wonderful woman and now I have the privelege of providing stationery for what I expect to be one of the highlights of my and our combined families lives (no pressure!!). Of course there is much more to be done besides stationery for the parents of the Groom but this is so exciting to create their wedding stationery and accessories with them I had to share and I just hope my happy tears don’t ruin the paper! I hope you will follow along with us this year as the wedding unfolds starting with the Save the Date cards pictured here, through the entire joyous event.

The halls are decked and the tree is trimmed, the holidays are here! This year there are new ornaments on our tree. Sketches of the Tidewater Inn and the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club hand painted onto keepsake ornaments. A unique way to share the memories made at these special venues. A great gift for couples that celebrated their nuptials at either venue. Or for Inn guests to take home with them and look back fondly on their time at either the Tidewater and the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. What a delight to see our art transformed into a holiday memento! Its already boxed, ready to go and for sale at both locations. May your holidays be filled with joy and memories to last a lifetime.

]]><![CDATA[WE LOVE FALL (COLOR) WEDDINGS!]]>Tue, 15 Oct 2019 15:25:55 GMThttps://www.cinkart.com/blog/we-love-fall-color-weddingsFall colors really add a lot to a wedding color scheme and great accents to wedding invitation suites. Copper is a great color and metallic to add to the mix and we have had several couples pair copper with navy for paper products and other aspects of the wedding decor. One bride took her whole wedding inspiration from the gorgeous copper Moscow Mule mugs she used for favors and incorporated the metallic accent in a ribbon on the invitation and a copper colored ink on the nautical chart envelope liner. We also incorporated both hammered copper and shiny copper metallic papers into another couple’s October wedding stationery to compliment the navy and seafoam greens in their wedding design. These small pops of metallic color really help set the tone for an autumnal event!

Cink Art was a co-sponsor with other area vendors of the Whitehall Wedding Venue Planning Event held this past Wednesday. Whitehall is a stunning property near Annapolis on the water with a gorgeous historic mansion backdrop, available for weddings. We were happy to contribute the invitations and other stationery for the event including a hand drawn map of the event day. Local and DC area wedding planners were invited to an open house on the property and many stayed the night by “Glamping” in upscale tents! The Spring brought us a gorgeous photoshoot designed by Drew Vanlandingham of the Vanlandingham Design Studio. We love working with Drew who’s design direction is over the top beautiful and allows us here at Cink Art to really stretch our design wings to create the stationery to compliment the session. The setting was wedding venue The Heron Room in Baltimore an outstanding location and clean modern space - perfect for dressing up for a wedding. With colors of deep red, purple, and gold plus an emphasis on florals as the “theme” of the shoot we created a wedding invitation ensemble, programs, menus and place cards featuring hand made paper, sparkling ribbon accents and metallic leaf skeletons. We can’t say it enough - we love a theme! We participated in a Crab Feast/Maryland Flag/Beach themed wedding photoshoot in 2018 organized by Madison Berlen Photography that was great fun and wonderful to create invitations and accessories for. We especially loved making the crab mallet menu cards for the crab feast reception and making the tags for the Old Bay wedding favors. All the vendors donating items to this themed event were over the top (check out that CAKE!) and of course the photos are fantastic by Maddie Berlen. We created this skipjack inspired wedding stationary suite for Marissa and Christopher’s big day at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Their invitations and programs featured a hand done watercolor painting of a skipjack sailboat which reflects the bride and groom’s love of boating. We paired their stationary with a nautical map inner liner and small nautical sketches on each accessory card to tie together the whole suite. We also were happy to create a Bridal Brunch invitation for Marissa with a mermaid theme. We love a theme! Congrats to Marissa and Christopher, we loved working with you!
