The Fall/Winter edition of What’s Up Weddings magazine has a great article on all things wedding invitations and we are excited that photos of some works of ours are featured in the article. One of our photos in the article shows the invitation suite we created for a wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and showcases our drawings of the Lighthouse there, a sketch of the Inn at Perry Cabin and a hand drawn map of the area emphasizing the couple’s wedding “landmarks”. Many thanks to Laura’s Focus Photography and TPoz Photography for the great presentations of our wedding stationery ensembles in the article and big thank you to What’s Up for highlighting the subject of wedding invitations and including Cink Art! Congrats to fellow stationers Paper in the Park and Little Bit Heart for also being featured. We were honored to be chosen to design the wedding invitation and day of Stationery for Eric and Anushree’s Indian/American wedding which took place in Washington DC. These weddings have a lot of moving parts and days of wonderful events so the invitation was multi-faceted and loaded with information. The couple was great to work with - knowing what they wanted but allowing us to be creative as well and the invitation featured some of the Bride’s own hand drawings. We especially liked working with the tangerine, henna and red colors incorporated into the stationery and creating the most special cards which featured an Indian poem in both Hindu and English for each table at the reception. Check out these gorgeous wedding photos by Michael O. Snyder Photography. Best wishes to Eric and Anushree and their families and thank you for having Cink Art as your Stationery vendor!
This spring we worked with Emily and Brian on their wedding which was held at the exclusive Antrim 1844 Inn and wedding venue in Taneytown, MD. This was a dream come true for me as a long admirer of the Antrim building architecture and it’s surrounding gorgeous grounds and gardens, I jumped at the chance to draw the building for this wedding’s invitation. The Bride chose a periwinkle blue with whites and ivories for the wedding colors which was reflected in the ink and other artwork added to the designs. Prints of the drawing were created for the wedding and now are actually being sold in the Antrim’s gift shop along with note cards we created for the venue as well. Looking for a beautiful upscale Historic countryside setting for your wedding? Check out the Antrim 1844 https://www.antrim1844.com/estate-weddings/ and we will be happy to create the invitations!
We love Chinoiserie and so did our Bride! Those gorgeous deep blue and white patterns on Ginger Jars and other pottery were the inspiration for a set of save the dates, wedding invitations and wedding day items for a June wedding at the Baltimore Country Club. Watercolor was the medium to create the patterns to go on the backgrounds of the cards and envelope liners. The theme was carried through the entire wedding decor styled by Drew Vanlandingham of Vanlandingham Design Studios. Thank you Lexi for the inspiration and opportunity to create this watercolor design and invitations! Wonderful Photography by Manda Weaver Photography.
Occasionally we get customers from the same family who come back for invitations or accessories from us after one member gets married. This year we were happy to work once again with the Caine Family whose Son and Daughter both had us create Welcome Card maps for each of their weddings. The latest card was of the Seattle Washington area as the couple were wed at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa in Union, WA https://www.alderbrookresort.com/. The card was attached to a wonderful welcome gift bag created by Box and Bow Artisan Gift Box Studio which was given to the wedding guests.
We love the challenge of researching and drawing maps from other parts of the country - and then we just want to visit there! We actually made that happen when our first commissioned map from the Caine Family was for the daughter’s wedding in Napa Valley, CA. After the wedding the family requested that the wedding venue Auberge du Soleil https://aubergedusoleil.aubergeresorts.com/ be drawn as a Holiday gift for the couple. So happy to travel to Napa to research and photograph that venue! Many thanks to the Caine’s for allowing us to create your wedding artwork.
Congratulations to Vanessa and Ryan! Their wedding has been featured on My Eastern Shore Wedding's blog and we were lucky enough to create their wedding stationary for them. A lot of drawing went into this invitation suite including a hand drawn map of St. Michael's, a hand drawn sketch of the Inn at Perry Cabin and a hand drawn sketch of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Light House. Thank you to My Eastern Shore Wedding for featuring us and to Laura's Focus Photography for the beautiful photos.
One of our favorite wedding invitation ensembles was feature in the Spring/Summer issue of What’s Up Weddings magazine. The wedding took place at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club last fall and the couple chose a palette of blush, ivory and gold for their design and requested some hand done artistic elements for the ensemble. Gold was a prominent factor in the invitation so we gold foiled all the copy on the invitation and accessory cards and printed that on a hand watercolor washed background then mounted the invitation on an Ivory shimmer pocket. A sketch of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was added to a rehearsal dinner card which was tucked into the pocket along with the other accessory cards. Laura Marr Printing was the press used to print everything and did an excellent job. The result was a very formal custom invitation which set the tone for the gorgeous wedding to follow. Thanks Maria and Aleks for the inspiration and experience of creating these invitations!
Cink Art supplied invitations, menus, and place cards for the first ever “ Cheers To You” dinner. A gathering of wedding industry venues and vendors at the beautiful and scenic Severn Inn in Annapolis, for a chance to relax and get to know each other. A great time was had by all. Thank you to all the vendor sponsors who made this dinner possible!
Cink Art recently had the privilege of working with Annapolis Wedding Blog to supply invitations, menus, signage and place cards for a photo shoot of a Fourth of July wedding. We loved working with a patriotic theme and used American flag images and ribbons to create this stationery. Thank you Annapolis Wedding Blog for letting us be apart of this and thank you to 1783 photography for the beautiful photos. Everything supplied by the vendors and models made for a great shoot! Be sure to check out theannapolisweddingblog.com for the full story.
We've been featured in The Washingtonian Bride and Groom Magazine! Kristen and Chuck wanted to show off their beautiful wedding venue, so a sketch of the Chesapeake Bay Hoopers Strait lighthouse was the star of their invitations. Congratulations Kristen and Chuck and thank you Washingtonian Bride and Groom for featuring us in this amazing magazine!
